This is the software you will need for this lesson. First you will learn to setup a bloglines account and how to sign in. Installing Blogbridge is optional and suitable for people who regulary use the same computer, the advantage of of having blogbridge on your computer is that you have more control and if your doing research you may want to maintain an archive of your data. Download the version for your operating system. If your in the lab it should already be installed. Free Software users may want to consider using liferea.
Bloglines Setup
Bloglines is a free web based service thats commonly described as a feed reader, news reader or news aggregator. Here's a couple of their mottos. "We track your favorite news, blogs, weather, and classifieds so that you don't have to" and "Create a personal Bloglines page loaded with the freshest news about the things you love."[1]
Getting Started: Create an Account
The first thing you'll want to do with Bloglines is set up an account.
- Go to bloglines.com.
- Click the Register link in the upper-right hand corner.
- Fill in your email address and choose a password.
- Click Register.
- Check your email to finish the registration process.
Getting Started: Log In
- Go to bloglines.com.
- Click the Log In link in the upper-right hand corner.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Click Log In.
Your Ready
Once you completed creating an account and becoming familiar with how to log go to the activity page.
