The Learning Object Repository is a collection of learning objects for teachers to use in their classroom activities if they feel its relevant and beneficial.

Most objects are free and available for download in multiple formats including text, PDF, HTML Single, HTML Book, RTF and all together as a zip archive. Some research articles are available as screenshot walkthroughs to give readers a view of complex applications without going through the process of installing them.

The idea behind being libre is that if it doesn't meet your needs you can change and improve the guides for whatever reason. Some of the guides are on software, for example the guide to podcasting using free software, the idea is that a teacher can take the guide, change the image to match something more appropriate like an image of their school, modify the guide to make it more of a task or lesson plan, download the software and then place it on a CDROM, combine it with a cheap microphone and make it available to their students to take home, they can even charge a fee to cover their costs. All this at the same time as promoting their school and providing their students with an innovative learning activity.
